Who's who at Chequers
Here's an introduction to the members of staff who work at Chequers Playgroup. All staff regularly attend courses to enhance their knowledge, including mandatory training in First Aid, Child Protection, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety and Risk Assessment.
Jenny Barrett
Jenny started at Chequers in May 2008 and has worked in childcare since 1993. Jenny is the Lead Child Protection Co-ordinator, and also has qualifications in Learning Through Play and Understanding and Improving behaviour.

- Qualified NVQ Level 3;
- First Aid Trained.
Bev Penn, Playgroup Assistant
Bev started at Chequers Playgroup in February 1998. Prior to this she was a full time mum and housewife. Bev works on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Marlene Cracknell, Playgroup Assistant
Marlene started at Chequers Playgroup in 1975. Prior to this she worked in the local shop, as well as being a mum and housewife. Marlene is at Chequers on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

Charlotte Atmore, Playgroup Assistant
Charlotte started at Chequers Playgroup in February 2006. Prior to this she was at college full time training for her NVQ Level 2. While doing this course she gained experience of working with children aged 0 to 8 years of age while attending college and placement settings, which included first schools and also a nursery setting. She also worked at Tesco.
Charlotte also works with 4 to 12 year olds at an after school club in Wymondham. She also cares for a child with particular needs during the lunch time sessions at Hempnall Primary school.
Charlotte is at Chequers on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Dawn Glanfield, Playgroup Assistant
Dawn was a full time mum before starting at Chequers, and her children attended the Playgroup when they were younger. Dawn is at Chequers on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Qualifications & training
- Qualified City & Guilds Caring for Children aged 0-7.
Committee members
